Miss Earth is one of the fastest rising international pageants since it’s inception in 2001. Today it is considered as one of the top three prestigious pageants in the world. The pageant is designed to promote the conservation of our environment for the protection of all that live and breathe on this mother earth.

Candidates are invited from throughout New Zealand to be considered for selection as Miss Earth New Zealand 2009. The Miss Earth New Zealand 2009 pageant will take place on the 5th September 2009. The winner of the Miss Earth New Zealand title will travel overseas where she will take part in the prestigious Miss Earth pageant sometime between October and November 2009.

Criteria:

- Must be a citizen and resident of New Zealand
- The candidate is a person of good morale character
- Be between the age of 18 & 26 years of age as of November 2009
- Must never have been married, nor pregnant and never given birth.
- Born female.
- Able to find a sponsor or raise the required Entry Fee.
- Available to travel to Auckland for the 1st week of September 2009 for the NZ Final.
