"There's Always One" is an exploration of how we value ourselves and others and what it means to take the right to "just be yourself" to the absolute extreme. The film examines themes of mentorship, childhood, education, evolution, and evil, and asks of the audience "is there such thing as too much freedom?".
We are currently looking for 8 boys and 8 girls to work on the film as featured extras for our classroom and playground scenes. Selected actors will be required on the 3rd and 4th of July at our Primary School location in Kew, Victoria.
Taking on a extras role in our film would be an enjoyable, low-pressure environment for your child to practice being on camera and gain on-set experience with all the standards and professionalism of a commercial shoot with the added safety of being overseen by University Of Melbourne staff and supervisors.
Full catering will be provided for the duration of the shoot and a copy of the footage will be supplied to parents at the conclusion of the production period.
Also, as several of our crew are professional photographers, we have decided to make the bonus offer that every child who works with us can schedule a date to come into the photo studios at the Victorian College Of The Arts with their parents a receive a free headshot session. We know how essential having a top quality, up to date headshot is for casting, and we want to show our appreciation to our young actors by providing them with a resource that can help them land further film work in the future!
We are well supported by the university and, as this is a Masters of Film graduation project, a considerable amount of time and effort is going into getting it made to the highest caliber possible. The production process will be enjoyable, enriching, but also efficient and fast-paced at times, so ideally we are looking for children that can stay focused and understand direction.
So if our child would be excited to be a part of our film then we would love to hear from you! Just shoot us an email letting us know that you’re interested and we’ll have a look through your profile and maybe ask you a couple of questions, as well as answering any questions you might have for us!
(Also please note that as an official University Of Melbourne endorsed project the highest standards of safety and security will be upheld at all times. All key crew must have working with children's checks and all filming activities will be undertaken in accordance with Victorian Law with regards to underage working environments.)
All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
