Announcing general auditions for SHREK THE MUSICAL

Based on the story and characters from the Oscar®-winning DreamWorks Animation film, this hilarious and spectacular production turns the world of fairy tales upside down in an all-singing, all-dancing, must-see musical comedy.

Join Shrek, our unlikely hero, and his loyal steed Donkey as they set off on a quest to rescue the beautiful (if slightly temperamental) Princess Fiona from her tower, guarded by a fire breathing love-sick dragon. Add the vertically challenged Lord Farquaad, a gang of fairy tale misfits, and a biscuit with attitude, and you’ve got an irresistible mix of adventure, laughter and romance, guaranteed to delight audiences of all ages!

All applicants must prepare the following:
• Prepare two (2) songs of your choice in the rock/ pop style that best demonstrates your vocal range.

All applicants must bring the following to their audition:
• CV
• Headshot
• Sheet music for the accompanist. NO backing tracks.
• Show material where supplied
• Appropriate attire and footwear to dance in, should you be required for the dance call.

Melbourne Audition Dates: July 29th – August 2nd, 2019
Sydney Audition Dates: August 5th – August 9th, 2019

YOUNG FIONA (Young Girl)

[Female/ to play 7- 10 / any ethnicity] To play a young Princess Fiona. She has been locked in a tower from the age of 7 and is optimistic and hopeful that her fairytale dream will come true. Must be a confident singer and a strong actress with good comic timing. Vocal range: Mezzo to D. Playing any age 9 – 12. There will be four young girls hired for this role.
