New British feature film Growing Old Gracefully, a comedy drama musical, filming Manchester Oct 14 is looking for:

A Sound Recordist for Week 1 of shoot

[The Movie]
Based on a true story, partly autobiographical, and set in the early 1960s in Manchester, the story centres on a rather unforgettable trip for 54 year old, undiscovered singer songwriter Paul, who ventures into the audience at the cabaret club of rising new comedy star Rudy Chalmer to experience an evening’s entertainment of comedy and music.

But what starts off as a night of controversial comedy from Chalmer, gradually unfolds into a series of bizarre, surreal and unexplainable events involving politically incorrect conduct, chaos, confusion, farce, absurdist incidents and unexpectedly jaw-dropping surprises.

Many puzzling questions inescapably arise, such as ; why are the Beatles, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison and Laurel & Hardy still unknown and without any success in showbusiness, and why are they all looking for their first big break on the same dingy evening at Rudy Chalmer's modest little Comedy Shack in the wrong, deprived part of urban Manchester?

Why are they all 54 years old? And why do they all have an unsettling physical resemblance to Paul? Why is Rudy so verbally brutal and totally ruthless in his confrontations with all these apparently big name, familiar faces? Is Paul about to get his own big break, taking over on stage when an unknown and disillusioned 54 year old Elvis Presley’s precarious pelvis forces him to prematurely halt his performance in agony and leave the building?

Growing Old Gracefully is a comedy drama musical with a startling difference where weird things are constantly happening and bringing the events of history, the past and the future, especially for some of the biggest names in showbusiness, into shocking uncertainty.

The film combines elements of Back To The Future, The Wizard of Oz and Wierd Al Yankovic with moments of moving drama interweaving surreal, slapstick and physical comedy. The movie is being shot on 5K digital cine cameras. It will be entered for International Film Festivals with a view to acquiring worldwide distribution and features several songs (original and classic hits covers) a music score and special effects.

Actors appearing in the movie include; Jenet Le Lacheur: (Harry Potter And The Cursed Child, RSC), Alan Hay: (Avenue Q, Sweeney Todd), Farrel Hegarty (My Dinner With Herve', Emmerdale) and Rosalyn Mitchell: (Aeon Flux, Seven Devils).

Director of Photography is the award winning film maker and Cinematographer Tom J. Kelly who will be filming on a Red Gemini. His numerous credits include film, music videos and TV Commercials for Mercedes, Barclays, Mitsubishi, Sainsburys and Accurist Watches.

Principal Photography is scheduled at two weeks from October 14, 2019 with a DOP and 2nd camera operator. The movie will be entered for International Film Festivals with a view to acquiring worldwide distribution and features several songs, both original and classic hits covers, a music score and special effects.

Due to the Very Low Budget status as an independent British feature film, there will be a contract that will outline the usual day rate, plus sizeable additional bonuses from the movie’s Gross earnings. As soon as we sell the movie and are paid by a Distributor, cast and crew will then be paid immediately from that Gross advance. And to begin with, the crew will be paid travel expenses, catering (and accommodation if req.)

Original SR can't do week 1 now.

The Production Accountants will distribute future payments and all cast and crew will be able to regularly receive and inspect the accounts. Thank you for your interest in the movie and please say on your communication how long you’d be willing to work on the movie and if you would require accommodation in Manchester.
