Casting call for 12 actors (4 men / 8 women) to be part of a stills photoshoot for a Pharmaceutical company, aiding the treatment for addiction and other serious mental illnesses.

Shoot will take place over 3 days, with 4 scenarios to be captured per day. Each actor to star in one scenario.

Usage is in perpetuity, below the line.

Kevin- Australian

Kevin is a 46-year-old freelance designer from Australia, with two teenage children. Kevin used recreation drugs as a teenager and occasionally drugs like cocaine. When his wife died in a car accident his drug habits became worse. He was left to raise his children on his own, but couldn't handle the loss and he reached a point where he couldn't work and almost lost custody of his children. Kevin is now on medication and getting his life back on track. He remarried and he and his wife have a baby

Jonathan is in his late thirties and works in a high street store as a manager. He started consuming large quantities of alcohol whilst a student which escalated to drug use and then dropped out of college because of his addiction. For years he struggled with rehab programs and after a decade of failed attempts, he is now on a medication program that has helped give him the confidence to turn his life around. He is now in a relationship and regular employment and plans to start a family.

Nancie- French

Nancie has been addicted to heroin since she was 16. At high school drugs helped mask the pain of her mother’s suicide. Nancie dropped out of school and battled with her addiction for 15 years. After a failed suicide attempt she joined a medication based program and after 2 years of sobriety, she has now managed to get her high school diploma and turn her life around. Nancie sees her past as a lesson for the future and feels that life has a lot to offer despite pain and loss

Karla- Dutch

Karla has struggled with depression since she was 12 which led to prescription drugs and then dependence on heroin. After almost a decade of addiction and abusive relationships she started a buprenorphine medication treatment. She is now a Psychology PhD candidate and 3 years sober. Karla feels more positive about life and believes that things can always get better with enough help, which is why she wants to help people deal with their mental health problem.

Matilda- US

Matilda, from the U.S, became addicted to pain medication after she injured her spine in a road accident when she was 22. Her addiction led her to lose her job and her life spiralled out of control. After a drug-related miscarriage, she decided to take control of her life with the help of addiction medication and professional support. Matilda is now working in local government and has a 2-year-old son. She has dedicated her life to raising her son and be the best example she can be for him.

Farah - Canada

Farah, from Canada, was working through college as a waitress when a work-related accident led to an addiction to pain medication. After years of abuse, she turned to heroin when she could no longer afford prescription drugs. After 15 years of addiction with the support of her partner, her daughter and the help of addiction medication, Farah has managed to be sober for 3 years and now runs a small shop with her daughter. The experience has brought her closer to her family.

Porsha - US

Porsha, from the U.S, was a star athlete in college when after a sport-related injury she started using prescription drugs to help her perform despite her pain. She became addicted and lost her scholarship as well as most of her friends. After 5 years of addiction, a couple of failed relationships and almost becoming homeless, she started treatment and with the support of her family, she is now getting her PT certification and helps other people deal with their addiction as a sponsor.

Tom- US

Tom, from the U.S, worked as a contractor married with two children when he became addicted to prescription pain killers to deal with his severe back pain. In the next 5 years he became a regular addict and lost most of his clients. When his partner divorced him and he lost custody of his children he decided to join a medication program and with the help of his doctors has succeeded in being sober the last 4 years. Now Tom has his own construction company with three employees.

Sarah - French

Sarah, from France, grew up in an abusive environment, surrounded by drugs. She started using marijuana when she was 12 and became addicted to heroin at the age of 14. At the age of 20 Sarah almost lost her 4-year-old daughter in a house fire when both were at home. The experience affected her mental health and she felt that she couldn't handle the day-to- day and simple decision-making. She joined a medication program. she is now sober for 18 months raising her 6-year-old.

Ryan- US

Ryan, from the U.S, became addicted to cocaine when he started working as a banker at the age of 24. He spent the following 8 years trying to stop his addiction several times only to relapse. After seeing his life being ruined from addiction he began a buprenorphine medication treatment and is now sober for 3 years, with his career back on track and preparing for his big day with his partner. Ryan sees his addiction as a lesson and doesn’t try to hide it, after many years he is feeling happy

Monica- US

Monica, from the U.S, has been suffering from mental health problems since she was a teen. Her illness led her to alcohol abuse and then to opioid abuse. After 2 overdoses with the support of her teachers and family she decided to change her life and through medication and the help of her psychiatrist she is now a college student working to become a nurse so she can help other people.

Susana was in the army when she became addicted to prescription medication to deal with a training injury. After 4 years of addiction she has been drug-free for the last 29 months. Addiction medication and the support of her doctors has helped her get back on track and progress her career in the Army. Susana is now focusing to become the best version of herself that she can be and is determined to move forward with life.
