She is a child from two worlds - who while comfortable in her own skin never quite feels perfectly at home in either Western or Eastern culture as she has always had her feet loosely placed in both without a firm commitment to either. With a mix of cultural upbringings she is strong and independently minded but with respect to the societal norms of both cultures.

He is Yoda to REID’s Luke.

grew up in a time when life was perhaps simpler in terms of the way that male/female relationships were defined. Though this lens doesn’t make her a traditionalist - she in fact spent many years abroad raising her daughter overseas and can see the attraction of many elements of Western and Eastern culture - but she can also see the trappings and failures of both. In the end she does find herself somewhat constrained by the expectations of family and those around her.

EVE is a woman who knows precisely what she wants and how to get it at any given moment. She is successful in business and in life and as such she can be cold at times as she tends to focus on her wants and needs at the detriment to those around her. While EVE thought she wanted to be with REID and does in many ways care for him, since moving to Hong Kong and spending time in isolation, she has perhaps reflected and realised that she can do better.
