Premier Stage Play ‘BLOOD AND BONE’ for actors 25-45
Location: Melbourne, Vic, Australia

Casting for premiere staging of ‘Blood and Bone’, a drama set during WW2 about 2 ANZACS who are saved by 2 Greek woman during a fierce German invasion. It is a story about the friendship between Australian and Greek people which outlasted the battles of WW2. The play uses doubling.
Actors will be paid at award rates.
The roles are:
Woman (early 20s) – Katerini, who saves the ANZACS. Doubling with minor roles.
Woman (40s) – Lizzie, mother of John, an ANZAC, who has already lost her husband in WW1. Doubling as Eleni, one of the women who saves the ANZACs, plus 2 minor roles.
Man 1 (early 20s) – John, ANZAC and doubling with minor roles
Man 2 (early 20s) – Ned (friend of John)), ANZAC and doubling with minor roles
Man (40s) – doubling as Army doctor, sergeant in battle, Eleni’s husband, factory foreman.
Important Dates:
The 85 minute play will be performed at Renaissance Theatre, Melbourne, on 26 February 2021.
Rehearsals start 12 January 2021 and will be twice weekly: Tuesday evening (6.30 - 9.30 pm) and Sunday evenings (4.30 – 7.30pm).
Audition Process:
In November 2020 auditions will be arranged by Zoom with director – Demetra Giannakopoulos. An audition pack with an allocated reading of the play scenes will be provided prior. There is no payment for the audition. All applicants will be notified by email.
