Indigenous Male and Female Actors for Paid Opportunity
Victoria, Australia

Paid
Theatre & Musicals
We are creating a play about an Indigenous Digger who rode his horse 1700 kms to enlist in WW1.
Our team is collaborating with this man's relatives, so we have permission to tell this important story.
We need a male to play the lead and a strong female to be a strong support.
This is a paid opportunity and will be performed at an Arts Festival next year with a view to a tour in 2022.
This is a wonderful opportunity to tell the story of Indigenous Diggers and the injustice they suffered upon their return. We are also telling the story of the female Indigenous drovers who built the pastoral industry in QLD and NT, so both roles are very strong and interesting.
Our organisation, The Storey Players, empowers disadvantaged children through drama workshops and storytelling activities to strengthen self-confidence and literacy skills. It is through our work in outback Australia that we came across this story and want to tell it to young people to inspire them.
There will be some puppetry work involved and you will have to learn some Pitta Pitta language, an Indigenous language from North West Qld that is almost extinct.
