Male Actor for Co-Protagonist Role in Buddy-Comedy Short Film
Aaron and Phillip are two best friends struggling to kickstart their careers in the cinematic industry. Their good intentions however are failed by their actions: as a matter of fact, they do nothing but smoking weed and talking about films. Meeting with an old course-mate now working as a professional screenwriter for a TV series, the duo understands that it is well past time for them to finally do something. After many attempts at writing a story that culminate in rather silly re-telling of very popular films, Aaron and Phillip realise that there is nothing interesting and original that they can actually write. Except themselves, perhaps. They are pretty funny, after all. They therefore end up making a film about themselves, exploiting the clichés of student films, while at the same time being one.
The story can be summarised in a sentence as a self-reflexive meta-narrative buddy comedy. On the same wavelength of 'Clerks'.
Production of the short film will start in late January.

The audition is for the role of Aaron, the slightly more serious character of the duo. On the contrary of Phillip, Aaron believes that cinema is first and foremost an elevating form of art that should principally investigate the human nature and its complexities. He is deeply fascinated by Bazin's theories on cinematic realism.
Is this artsy attitude a reflection of his passion or merely a performance to mask his insecurities?
