Aged 5- Partaking in a children’s choir that sang around venues, festivals, TV and events of all scales, the capital of Bulgria (Sofia) for approximately 2 years

Aged 7/8 - Started learning to play the piano and I can vividly remember ‘The Entertainer’ being my 10th song that I learned.

Aged 9 - kept learning the piano on and off due to private lecturers’ health problems. (pretty sure I was just annoying)

Aged 11- moved to the UK, skipped to ABRSM Grade 3 piano and passed with a Merit.

Aged 13- Skipped to ABRSM Grade 5 piano and passed with a merit, missing out on a distinction mark by roughly two marks. Started listening to all sorts of music and when I came across Elvis Presley’s ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ I started mocking it. I learnt how to sing by mocking singers… how original!

Aged 14- got my first guitar and started to teach myself chords. I also started a fascination with Eminem and taught myself how to rap.

Aged 15- showed a profound interest in drums. I made great use of the kits supplied at my high school, and I also got 101 lessons.

Aged 18- Skipped to Rock School (Performing Popular Genres) Grade 8 and passed with Distinction (90/100 marks). I received a MacBook Pro for my birthday which, to this day, I use for production. Clean record of A’s in music all the way up to the end of high School Education. I was sad that we didnt have much opportunity on the technical and recording side of music.

Aged 19 - Got my first heartbreak. I also got to perform ‘Close Every Door’ from the musical ‘Joseph And The Technicolor Dreamcoat’ by Andrew Lloyd Webber backed up bu the Scottish National Orchestra and the roughly 90 piece Horescross choir infront of 400 people (one of them the ex) on, what would have been our 9 month anniversary. We are both happy now that we are… Got sidetracked!
The break up was the inspiration for my song ‘Should I Stay’ which is sung entirely by me (the backing vocals too), produced by me (acknowledgably quite poorly but I now like it because of the raw sound) and credit to my friend George Hughes for improvising a guitar part for which I would not have had the patience.

Aged 20- I have countless unifinished projects of all genres (from grime to West End) lying in a folder on my laptop. I have produced the songs for several friends of mine who have now released them! I have completed an HNC in Music with Vocals being my main instrument. That year exposed the business side of the music industry to me as well as it gave me side on experience to collaborate and interact with other like minded people. It also gave me a taster of the consequences of procrastination, as well as learning, trying my best, working under pressure, absorbing info like a sponge, self-control, and personally… I have now learned to kep procrastination out of the equation!

The HNC in Music gave me a differnet view of singing and has taught me techniques which I can use to express myself more clearly when singing!

I have also discovered that there is space in the industry for deep voiced artists (Rag N’ Bone Man) which has given me a bit more motivation to not pretend like I have still not gone through puberty and sing with a more natural voice.

I also like to blabber on a bit and feel very comfortable with expressing myself clearly when I communicate with others. This has allowed me to take the opportunities to teach both piano, singing and production.

Chances are, if you have any other questions, you will be able to ask me but for now thank you for your time!

Looking forward to working with/for you!

Toma
