2005 to date Founder/Leader of Billy Thompson Gypsy Style

• Live album released April 2009 – ‘Billy Thompson Gypsy Style LIVE’ on own label
• Performing all around the UK including television appearances for S4C

2004 to date Co-founder of Amledd (

• Album released July 2006 – ‘Cyfnod Cyntaf’ on own label
• Performing all around Wales including Sesiwn Fawr and The National Eisteddfod of Wales.
• Regular Radio Cymru air play including live session. S4C (Noson Lawen).

1998 to date Member of Barbara Thompson’s Paraphernalia (

• Recorded on ‘Shifting Sands’, ‘Thompson’s Tangos’ & ‘Never Say Goodbye’ albums. Live DVD out now.
• Performed hundreds of performances around Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Japan and the UK. BBC Radio 2, 3 and 4 appearances.

1996 to date Session Musician

• Recorded for numerous artists including Manfred Mann, Salena Jones, Meic Stevens, Sian James, Mim Twm Llai, Alun Tan Lan and many more.
• Oscar nominated cartoon ‘Famous Fred’.

2008 Bara Caws

• Integral member of 4-piece band for Welsh musical production of Llyfr Mawr y Plant.

1997 - 2007 Member of The Amigos

• Brecon Jazz Festival each year, many other festivals and concert performances including the Warwick & Leamington International Music Festival and the Fishguard International Music Festival.
• Recorded on ‘Gypsymania’, ‘Alma Gitana’ & ‘Jazz Manouche’ albums.
• Numerous television & radio appearances for the BBC, ITV, S4C and S4C digital.
• Main support for Tom Jones performing to 25,000 people.

1997 - 2007 Member of Meic Stevens’ band

• Recorded on ‘Mihangel’, ‘Ysbryd Solva’ and ‘Icarws’ albums. ‘Ysbryd Solva’ recorded at own studio ‘Thompsound Music’.
